Panel Discussion 4: Unlocking Venezuela's Domestic Gas Market: Reform, Investment & Private Sector Growth

30 Sept 2026
JW Marriott Caracas
Executive Summit

From Potential to Production: Creating the Conditions for a Competitive Gas Market. Despite possessing one of Latin America's largest natural gas resource bases, Venezuela's domestic gas market remains significantly underdeveloped. Unlocking its full potential will require targeted regulatory reforms, greater private sector participation and investment incentives that support both associated and non-associated gas development. This session will explore the role of the Gaseous Hydrocarbons Law, opportunities to strengthen the domestic gas market, balancing regulated and competitive market structures, and how policy changes can encourage new investment while ensuring sufficient gas supply for domestic industry, power generation and future export markets.
