Oman Oquendo

President, Venezuelan American Petroleum Association (VAPA)

Oman Oquendo is a respected energy executive, petroleum engineer, and strategic advisor with over four decades of international experience in the oil and gas sector. His work has focused on helping organizations make sound technical and business decisions in areas such as asset optimization, reserves evaluation, project recovery, risk management, and energy strategy.

His professional path began at PDVSA, where he built a strong foundation in field operations, technical leadership, and corporate management. He later served in senior positions with Repsol and Petrobras, leading multidisciplinary teams and contributing to major energy initiatives across different markets.

As Founder and CEO of OQN2 Solutions, Oman has advised clients in the United States, Mexico, Argentina, and Suriname since 2016. His work reflects a practical, ethical, and technically disciplined approach to solving complex industry challenges. He also serves as President of the Venezuelan-American Petroleum Association in Houston.

In addition to his industry career, Oman has shared his knowledge as a university professor and technical author. He holds a Petroleum Engineering degree from Universidad del Zulia and a master’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin. He is also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
